A Note from the National Corrections Conference

Hello District 60!

I spent the weekend in Charlotte at the 7th Annual National Corrections Conference!! The weekend was very inspiring because most of the speakers and panelists were formerly incarcerated and got sober behind the walls because of AA volunteers bringing in the message of recovery!! We had about 399 people in attendance. Some AA’s came from as far as Alaska, California, Texas, Florida and Canada! To hear their stories about what they were like, what happened and what they are like today was amazing.

One alcoholic sharing with another alcoholic experience, strength and hope.  Anyone who has never taken a meeting into a prison or jail should consider getting involved in this type of service work. It’s very rewarding and the men and women inside need us and appreciate us coming!

The 8th annual National Corrections Conference will be held in Nashville Tennessee next year!

In Love and Service,

Tony A.

District 60 Corrections Coordinator
